Arrest following Wairoa search warrant
A 22 year old man is facing a number of theft, drugs and firearms charges following a search warrant in the small rural community of Raupunga.
The search warrant followed thefts from multiple shops in the Hawke’s Bay area over the past three weeks.
Stolen property, around 100 cannabis plants, a .303 rifle and ammunition was recovered during the warrant.
The 22 year old man is due to appear in the Wairoa District Court today.
Senior Sergeant Mike Stevenson says it’s a great result for the community.
“To be able to remove these firearms from the hands of criminals is a good thing.”
