Lakeside Road, Wanaka – one lane to open today
QLDC can confirm that one lane of Lakeside Road in Wanaka will be open to traffic under stop go traffic control from 3.30pm today.
The road surface has been cleared of debris and a concrete buttress wall installed.
QLDC have been working with the developers to open the road to traffic and are happy that the current solution will provide for the safety of road users.
The site will be closely monitored and the road will be closed if there is any change in stability or risk to traffic and pedestrians.
At this time there is no confirmed timeline for when two lanes will be open to traffic. As details are available QLDC will provide further updates, but in the meantime would like to thank the community and local residents for their ongoing patience during this event.
