Hutt Valley Chamber Not Responsible for Fake Twitter Posts

Published: Fri 15 Sep 2017 11:26 AM
Statement from Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce
The Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for political messages from a Twitter account bearing its name.
No person in their right mind would post such material, and no reasonable person would believe we did.
We have been the victim of a malicious trouble-maker who is known to us, but is not part of our organisation.
Action against this person is being taken today, and we’ve secured our online presence to prevent them doing it again.
We have asked Twitter to delete the account and secure our IP and identity.
Our legitimate social media channels are Facebook and LinkedIn.
We will talk to the Police today about laying a complaint against the person involved.
