Kellogg’s Café Pops Up for Auckland City Mission

Kellogg’s Café Pops Up for Auckland City Mission

Auckland, New Zealand, Wednesday 30 August 2017: Kellogg’s is launching a pop-up food truck which will be serving a variety of delicious cereal creations – but not as you know it! From Wednesday 30th August, the Kellogg’s Café will roll into Aotea Square for Aucklanders to enjoy a new twist on breakfast, in aid of the Auckland City Mission.

Not only will proceeds go towards supporting the Auckland City Mission, Kellogg’s will also match each purchase at the truck, and every social post made using #KelloggsBetterDaysNZ, with a serve of cereal donated back to the Mission, helping provide breakfast for those who need it most.

What’s on the menu, you ask? Kellogg’s have created five cereal-inspired recipes to bring Aucklanders a tantalizingly delicious experience for their taste buds. Come down and cut into a hot Scotch Egg, coated in a crumb of Kellogg’s® Corn Flakes, indulge in crispy Rice Bubbles® French Toast with caramelised peaches and raspberry compote, or sink your teeth into a slice of Banana, Coconut and All-Bran® Loaf – there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the Kellogg’s Café!

Chris Farrelly, Auckland City Missioner, says he’s extremely pleased to have the ongoing support of Kellogg’s.

“We hope everyone will rally behind the Kellogg’s Café. No matter what background you come from, eating breakfast is really important in setting you up for a brighter day. The demand for food parcels and assistance is extremely high and the Mission is working to support as many vulnerable Kiwis as we can. Kellogg’s is helping to make a difference with a great initiative and we look forward to seeing the response from Aucklanders to the week-long pop-up at Aotea Square.”

Kellogg’s partnership with the Auckland City Mission was established in October 2016 as part of the Kellogg’s Breakfast for Better Days program, which aims to fight food insecurity and hunger by providing 2.5 billion serves of cereal and snacks across the globe by the end of 2025.

Nicholas Cheong, Senior Brand Manager from Kellogg’s New Zealand says, “Chris and the team at the Mission work incredibly hard to serve the community. We wanted to help by running a pop-up food truck that will not only give people the opportunity to try some delicious brekkie treats, but also feel good about making a difference too. Through Breakfast for Better Days, we’re fighting hunger every day and working with organisations like Auckland City Mission to achieve this shared goal.”

The Kellogg’s Café will be open at Aotea Square for one week from Wednesday 30th August, between 7.30 am – 10.30 am on the weekdays and 10.30am – 1.30pm on the weekend until Tuesday 5th September.
