Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape health services
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is inviting the community to be part of two big projects that will shape the future of health care in Hawke’s Bay.
The first project, The Big Listen focuses on ‘people’ - seeking staff and consumer experiences to identify what works well and where more support or improvement is needed in order to deliver safer, higher quality care across the Hawke’s Bay health system
The second project, the Clinical Services Plan, is about transforming health services, where they are provided from and the infrastructure to house them.
Acting Chief Executive Sharon Mason said this was a huge opportunity for people to have a say and be heard, to help shape the future of health services in Hawke’s Bay.
“We are essentially stripping back our entire health system structure and asking questions that will help to design a future-proofed system with the very best levels of care, location and service in mind,” Mrs Mason said
We’d like the community to tell us about their experiences with us and where improvements could be made.
“This type of planning opportunity doesn’t come around very often so we encourage people to actively have their say.”
Mrs Mason said the first project seeking community feedback would be The Big Listen.
“Had a good experience? Had a bad experience? We’d like to hear from you - warts and all,” she said.
People could participate in a confidential survey or attend independently-facilitated ‘In Your Shoes’ listening sessions to be held across Hastings, Napier and Wairoa between 26 and 28 September.
