Minor delays expected while State Highway 2 bridge is strengthened
Delays are expected near Katikati while a bridge is strengthened to allow heavier trucks to use State Highway 2 between Tauranga and Waihi.
State Highway 2 at the Uretara Bridge will be down to one lane on Monday for some periods between 9am and 4pm while bridge beams are unloaded. Two other one lane closures will occur at the same time between Wednesday and Friday. The timing for these closures will be determined later in the week.
The NZ Transport Agency says the one lane closure could add an extra 5 to ten minutes to a journey.
It says people should allow extra time and check the Transport Agency website before heading off.
