Beyond left and right? Future
citizenship, its forms and
responsibilities
Please join us as
Wellington-based writer, Tim Corballis chairs the second of
three forums organised in association with the Adam Art
Gallery's The Tomorrow People exhibition. With Morgan
Godfery, Laura O'Connell Rapira, Dylan Taylor, and Faith
Wilson, Tim will debate the future forms and
responsibilities of citizenship beyond the traditional
parameters of 'left' and 'right'. This forum is a
partnership with the Cultivating Creative Capital theme at
Victoria University.
Tim Corballis has just published his fifth novel, Our Future is in the Air (VUP, 2017) and is co-editor ofCounterfutures. Morgan Godfery is a writer and trade unionist who recently edited a collection of essays,The Interregnum, in the BWB Text series. Laura O'Connell Rapira is Director of Campaigns at the online platform ActionStation and an advocate for activating the political power of young people. Dylan Taylor teaches Sociology at Victoria University. His recent research has interrogated the 'crisis of democracy' posed by the Occupy Movement. Faith Wilson is a writer and artist whose practice centres on the experience of self as an afakasi Samoan/Palagi female who grew up in New Zealand.
