Kāpiti Narrative Key To Growing Air Services

Kāpiti Narrative Key To Growing Air Services

Tuesday 2 August 2017 - Air New Zealand has congratulated Kāpiti on its growing momentum and says the airline is committed to working with stakeholders to grow tourism in the region.

Air New Zealand Regional Manager Ian Collier spoke to more than 80 local business people last week on the importance of bringing Kāpiti’s unique visitor experience to life.

“With its distinctive landscape, world-class leisure facilities and renowned craft beer, wine and artisan food, Kāpiti has a great deal to offer visitors.

“Defining what is uniquely Kāpiti and sharing this story is key to encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore more. Air New Zealand is committed to playing a part in helping Kāpiti to craft and tell its local story, as we have for other regions around New Zealand” says Ian Collier.

Heather Hutchings, Kāpiti Coast Chamber of Commerce Chair says she wholeheartedly welcomes Air New Zealand’s support, and the Chamber is already talking to them about the Kāpiti narrative “We have an unprecedented opportunity for growth and the time is right to discuss how to develop this crucial service, and a sustainable tourism industry, over the next 20 years and beyond.

“Kāpiti has all the elements to be a premier tourism destination however we need a coordinated approach in shaping our narrative and promoting ourselves. We will be looking to work with the Central Government, the Council, the Economic Development Leadership Group, and Manaaki to get the ball rolling on the Kāpiti narrative” says Heather Hutchings.
