Mitre 10 Papamoa takes top prize

Mitre 10 Papamoa was recognised as the best of its peers, taking home the 2017 Store of the Year crown at the national retailer’s annual awards

It’s the second time the Papamoa store has taken out the top prize in four nominations and Store Co-Owners Brian and Loretta Johnstone were quick to praise the efforts of their team for their hard work and dedication to customer service.

“I like to think that Papamoa knows we work hard to deliver the best service possible for our customers,” said Mitre 10 Papamoa Co-Owner Loretta Johnstone.

“We have a fantastic team who know the products inside and out, and work incredibly hard to provide a high level of customer service, as well as keeping the store looking great.”

Store Co-owner Brian Johnstone says that since the store opened in 2005 they’ve loved serving the people of Papamoa and couldn’t have done it without their great store team.

“Our store also won the Mitre 10 Customer Service award in 2007 in addition to our previous store of the year win. It’s a really great testament to the team’s hard work and dedication,” says Brian.

“Loretta and I couldn’t be happier to see them receive recognition for what they’ve achieved, and I know our customers appreciate it.”

Mitre 10 Papamoa was chosen as the best of the 41 Mitre 10 stores nationwide, after a panel of judges assessed it on customer and supplier feedback, store presentation, staff performance and financial performance.

Mitre 10 CEO Neil Cowie said Mitre 10 Papamoa beat some tough competition to claim their title.

“The Papamoa store stood head-and-shoulders above the rest this year. They were truly focused on customer service, consistently giving customers the best possible experience and always going above and beyond to meet customers’ needs. Brian, Loretta and the team should be proud,” says Mitre 10 CEO Neil Cowie.

The Mitre 10 New Zealand Awards, held last week at the SKYCITY Convention Centre in Auckland, acknowledge the efforts of team members across the country and seek to reflect the company’s continuing focus on customer experience.
