Newtown Tool Library Presents…… Repair Café
Do you have something that needs fixing but you're not sure how to do it yourself? Bring it down to the next Newtown Tool Library Repair Café! There will be a selection of skilled volunteers on hand to help and show you how to mend, repair, improve, fix, tune, glue or re-wire your loved item.
Held at the Newtown Community and Cultural Centre on Saturday 8th July from 11am until 2pm you can come and learn how to make it good again so you don't have to throw it away!
“The repair cafe is such a good idea. I hate throwing out things that have minor problems, but either I don't know how to fix them, or I don't know where to take them, or I don't have the money to get them serviced, or I don't have the tools to do it myself. The repair cafe solved all that. I had broken the door hinge on the microwave that belonged to my landlord, and I wouldn't have been able to afford to fix it, but we sorted it out at the repair cafe which was a huge relief." - A happy repair cafe participant.
Items to bring include, but are not limited to: clothing, jewellery, electrical, kitchenware, toys, accessories, furniture and musical instruments. Information about joining the Newtown Tool Library will also be on hand and delicious baked goods including coffee/tea will be available from the Koha Kitchen.
