Largest Hawke’s Bay tourism contingent to hit
TRENZ
This week Hawke’s Bay is being showcased on the world travel stage at TRENZ (Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand) held in Auckland 9th-12th May with the largest Hawke’s Bay contingent ever.
Nine tourism businesses and entities from Hawke’s Bay will jointly promote their independent businesses and attractions as well as the Hawke’s Bay region as a place to visit.
Over 370 international tourism buyers will attend the event and undertake over 50 appointments each across the show. Buyers come from Australia, USA, UK, China and Japan as well as newer visitor markets such as Indonesia, Brazil and India.
Led by Hawke’s Bay Tourism, the group of Hawke’s Bay businesses includes; Gannet Safaris Overland, Gannet Beach Adventures, Wairoa District Council, The Crown Hotel, the Art Deco Trust, Napier City Council Attractions, Takaro Trails and Odyssey New Zealand/Kanuka Cliffs. In addition, Breckenridge Lodge, and Mangapapa Hotel are represented at TRENZ by representation companies. This is the largest Hawke’s Bay tourism contingent to represent Hawke’s Bay at TRENZ.
Managed by the Tourism Industry Association of New Zealand (TIANZ) TRENZ brings together approximately 1200 International Travel and Tourism professionals from 29 countries representing traditional and emerging visitor markets, New Zealand tourism operators (Exhibitors) and domestic and international media.
Hawke’s Bay Tourism General Manager Annie Dundas says “TRENZ is where we get to put Hawke’s Bay in front of key international buyers and inbound tourism operators. It is superb to have such a large contingent of operators attend this event, it shows buyers the depth of product the region has available”.
Napier City Council are attending TRENZ in 2017 to promote their tourism facilities - the MTG, The National Aquarium, and Kennedy Park. “It’s all about converting the conversations into contracts which in turn generates new visitors to Napier and Hawke’s Bay” says Sally Jackson, Manager Visitor Experiences.
Hawke’s Bay Tourism and local operators also hosted 15 buyers prior to the show. “Showcasing Hawke’s Bay first-hand is the very best way to ensure pick up from international travel buyers and agents”, says Annie Dundas
