Busy Weekend for the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to
the Kohitere Forest East of Levin at around 10:00 am for a
man in his 30’s injured after he fell while mountain
biking. He sustained ankle injuries and was airlifted to
Palmerston North Hospital in a stable condition. Later that
afternoon the helicopter was sent to Riversdale Beach after
a man in his 70’s sustained leg injuries after getting his
leg caught in between his boat and its trailer. He airlifted
to Wellington Hospital.
This morning the helicopter was
dispatched to Raetihi for a woman in her 50’s with a
medical emergency. She was stabilised by St John paramedics
before being airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
