Jesse Pabla selected as Labour’s 2017 candidate for Papakura
Jesse Pabla has been selected as the Labour Party candidate for Papakura for the 2017 General Election.
Jesse is a 22-year-old electrical apprentice whose family has lived in Papakura for 50 years. He grew up in Papakura and attended local schools.
“My brothers and I had a happy childhood growing up in Papakura. But sadly, things have changed. We have homeless people living in parks throughout the area. The crime rate has gone up and Police resources are stretched to the limit,” Jesse says.
“I’m looking forward to campaigning in Papakura on the issues that matter locally: crime, housing, health and education.”
Labour’s President, Nigel Haworth, said: “Jesse joins our growing list of energetic and fresh candidates who will stand for Labour in 2017. Our focus is on electing a strong, Labour-led government next year that will rise to the challenge, back the Kiwi Dream and build a better New Zealand.”
