To provide you with an update on the status of telecommunications services for residents and visitors in the Thames Coromandel area, this is the latest Vodafone information:

Due to the severe weather experienced in the Thames-Coromandel area overnight some Vodafone customers may have experienced a temporary loss of mobile service.

A total of seven mobile cell sites were impacted by a loss of power and our teams were mobilised during the night to assess damage and to work to restore services. The teams have been working hard through the small hours, under harsh weather conditions, and are pleased to inform you that as of 9:00 am this morning, six of the seven sites had returned to full operation.

The last remaining site to be reinstated is in Onemana. We have a generator on the way to this site and as soon as the team can gain access, they aim to have power connected and mobile services restored as quickly as possible.
