One week delay to consultation process for Council bylaws

Marlborough District Council Media Statement

One week delay to consultation process for Council bylaws

Council is reviewing its general bylaws. They cover a range of matters ranging from public health and safety, parking, the use of public reserves, stock on public roads and driving on beaches as well as the keeping of animals.

Copies of the proposed bylaws will not be available until Friday 3 March. The start date for consultation was delayed by a week due to the full Council meeting being moved to 2 March.

The draft bylaws are now due to be considered at the Council meeting on 2 March and then released for consultation on 3 March. They will then be available on the Council’s website or by visiting Council’s offices or libraries in Blenheim or Picton.

For further information, or to obtain a copy, email bylawsubmissions@marlborough.govt.nz

The deadline for submissions is 5.00 pm on Monday 3 April 2017.

ENDS.
