Children’s Day Festivities
Mix together a pirate ship with teddy bears, sausages and a whole bunch of kids and you have the recipe for a great family day out.
There will be plenty of fun to be had on Sunday, March 5 when Children’s Day is celebrated at the TSB Pool Complex in Stratford.
TSB Pool Acting Manager Mike Hills says he and his team are looking forward to the day, which has been very popular in previous years.
“We always have a lot of interest and a good turn out for Children’s Day, so will have lots on offer to ensure that there is something for everyone,” says Mike.
The Pool will be open free of charge for all children and families from 1.00pm to 4.00pm with a range of free activities on offer including a sausage sizzle, teddy bears’ picnic, pirate ship bouncy castle, games and prizes. Children under eight years of age must be accompanied by an adult, aged 16 years or over.
The event is a joint project between the Stratford District Youth Council, the TSB Pool and Tūtaki Youth Incorporated, with sponsorship from New World Stratford.
Children’s Day was founded in the year 2000 to celebrate children. It aims to be non commercial with a focus on nurturing children and spending quality time with them.
“We encourage families to come along. It’s all about having fun together without having to spend a lot of money,” says Mike.
