Bay of Islands Hospital Roading Layout Changes
From this Saturday 11 February the exit and entry roadways to Bay of Islands Hospital will be swapped around with new signage in place to clearly guide traffic.
“The roading layout is changing in preparation for the new build and eventual round-about and to make it safer now when people are coming to and leaving the hospital site,” said operations manager Jen Thomas.
Demolition of the old Phlebotomy and Administration Block has been completed with demolition of the old Laboratory, front entrance and outpatient clinics due to start this week.
The new hospital front entrance is also now in operation for all services including public, staff, ambulance, couriers, porters etc. The entrance will be in place until the end of the construction, approximately March 2018 when the main entry will be via the Te Hauora o Pukepuke Rau Integrated Whānau Wellness Centre.
“Some of our outpatient clinics are now being held in the community health services building,” Jen advised. “Please make sure you check your appointment letter to confirm the venue for your appointment.”
