Bringing the Christmas spirit to life this week at Tūpare
Two free events bring the Christmas spirit to life this week at Tūpare, one of New Plymouth's premier heritage properties:
The Mangorei School children’s choir perform Christmas carols on Wednesday (7 December) from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, with Tūpare’s stunningly landscaped gardens as a backdrop. The choir’s Christmas concert last year was a hit with garden visitors.
Loads of ideas for making Christmas decorations, wreaths and table settings from items from your own garden will be explored at a two-hour workshop presented in association with Craft Haven and starting at 2pm on Sunday (11 December).
The concert and workshop are part of a year-round series of free public events at Tūpare, Pukeiti and Hollard Gardens, the three heritage gardens owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region. For more information, see www.trc.govt.nz/gardens/. You can also follow Taranaki Regional Gardens on Facebook and TaranakiRG on Twitter.
