Green Party selects Teall Crossen to stand in Rongotai.
The Green Party candidate for Rongotai is Teall Crossen after a hotly contested competition for the seat.
“I am honoured and excited to be offered this opportunity to add my voice to the Green Party call for action on climate change, tackling child poverty and a better New Zealand for everybody,” said Teall.
“This election is important to New Zealand if we want the change that will ensure children are not raised in poverty and that our country is part of a real response to climate change. I am energised and ready to highlight these issues to my fellow Rongotai residents.
Green Party co-leader James Shaw said Teall would bring strong organisational skills, passion and an ability to connect with people.
Rongotai is an important Green Party seat where we got 20% of the party votes at the last election,” he said.
The seat is a Green stronghold so Teall did well to win the nomination and is best placed to improve our turnout for 2017.
“Rongotai was former Co-leader Russel Norman’s electorate for the past nine years and he can rest assured that Teall will carry on sharing his vision with energy and passion.”
