We’ve just heard from the NZTA that SH1 between Mackays Crossing and Steyne Avenue, Plimmerton now has a single northbound lane open. As there is still surface flooding, motorists should exercise caution and drive to the conditions, watching speeds and following distances. Motorists should expect significant delays as there is a backlog of traffic to clear. The road remains closed to southbound traffic.
The following roads remain closed due to flooding and slips:
• SH58 from Paremata to Haywards Interchange at SH2 is closed and expected to remain closed overnight
• Greys Road is closed
• Paekakariki Hill Road is currently closed
• Toroa Road, Otaihanga is closed due to flooding.
Note that:
• Akatarawa Hill is open
• SH2 has two lanes now open between Ngauranga and Petone, with speed restrictions in place.
