Community help leads to breakthrough in robbery investigation
Nelson Police investigating a robbery at the Z service station on Halifax Street on Sunday night have arrested a man.
A 45-year-old man handed himself in to Police at Richmond this morning.
Following a public appeal for information, Police received a number of calls from members of the community identifying a person of interest.
“The response from the public has been very much appreciated and assisted in making a breakthrough in the case,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Johnston.
The man is currently in custody and will appear in the Nelson District Court tomorrow charged with robbery.
