Hawke's Bay Police are seeking witnesses to a single vehicle crash on SH2 near the Te Hauke cemetery in Hastings last night
The crash occurred just before 11:40pm when the car crashed into a power pole.
It is believed the driver of the car and a one month old baby were picked up from the scene by a passing motorist and taken to a friend’s house.
The driver and baby were subsequently taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police would like to speak to the person who picked the driver up and anyone else who may have witnessed the crash.
