Disruption to water supply
Residents near the corner of Victoria Avenue and Main Street may be noticing some water discolouration after a water main was damaged earlier this afternoon.
Contractors working for Powerco accidently damaged a fitting on the water main and repair work is expected to be completed by 3.30pm this afternoon.
In the meantime, two fire hydrants have been opened to minimise discolouration to the water.
The water is still safe to drink and it is anticipated that normal water services will resume soon after 3.30pm.
