"Man dies in Nawton, Hamilton"

Police attended a family harm incident in Nawton, Hamilton, last night at approximately 5.20pm after reports of a disturbance at the address.

A 59-year-old man died at the scene while Police were in attendance.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident in order to determine any links between the initial incident and subsequent death of the man.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested and will appear in court on Monday 31 October, 2016, on two assault charges relating to the incident.

The Coroner has been advised and no further information is available at this time.

Police extend their sympathies to the family.
