New bus services for South Auckland, Pukekohe and Waiuku – on its way
We are only days away before the biggest ever change to Auckland’s bus and train network.
Sunday 30 October at 4.45am, the (380) Airporter bus is the first scheduled bus of the Southern New Network to hit the road.
In recent weeks there has been a flurry of activity telling bus customers about the changes to get them ready for day one. This has included:
• Delivering the information brochure and local bus timetables to 119,000 letterboxes.
• Translating the brochure and videos into Hindi, Samoan, Tongan and Chinese.
• Putting up change posters at almost 500 bus stops. There are also posters at all of the 104 stops that will close, advising people of their nearest alternative bus stop.
• More than 300 new bus stops have been installed or relocated.
• 20 information events, helping customers plan their new journeys.

New bus facilities are being built including two new bus stops and a covered connection to the shopping mall.
Pukekohe Station
A temporary facility and layout for the new bus services has been constructed. All local buses will now connect at the train station.
