Local History Week
You don’t have to be a history buff to enjoy some of the great line-up of events in this year’s Local History Week. Over 30 events held over the week offer a variety of subjects presented through talks, walks, workshops, displays and interactive events which all give a great insight into our local heritage and history.
Local History Week is organised by Palmerston North City Library’s Heritage Team, in conjunction with other community groups and individuals.
Some of the
highlights during the week include:
Recreating The Square
with Lego – this runs all week in Tech Space and will suit
all ages
Book launch - Racing the Boys: A fascinating historical novel based on a local identity
Five lunchtime talks: Mineral Wealth; the AA Municipal Baths; the Final Battle Fundraising Campaign and Centrepoint Theatre
