Aucklanders are the focus of a drive to abandon the rat-race, embrace work-life balance and relocate to Rotorua as part of Destination Rotorua’s latest campaign.
The Love Life, Live Rotorua campaign is designed to showcase the wonderful lifestyle, work and education opportunities in Rotorua, free from major traffic congestion and unrealistically high mortgages, combined with a great work life balance.
Rotorua Mayor Steve Chadwick says Rotorua is a district on the rise.
“Our GDP growth has been above the national average for the past year, we’ve got developments happening and business confidence is high. We know Rotorua is great place to live and do business and we enjoy a fantastic lifestyle. We’re starting to see people relocating here as a result of all that.
“Kiwis are visiting more often, staying longer and spending more and we’ve just had two record months for visitor nights and visits to attractions and activities. It’s a good time to take the next step and position Rotorua as a great relocation option,” Mayor Chadwick says.
Destination Rotorua consumer marketing manager, Tom Worsp says promoting Rotorua as the ideal place to live is a natural progression from the successful “Famously Rotorua” domestic visitor campaign, which has been running for the last four years.
“The Love Life, Live Rotorua campaign has been designed to both support, and be separate from Famously Rotorua and will continue to help change perceptions about our city and put Rotorua on the table for consideration as a genuine option for relocation,” Mr Worsp says.
“Aucklanders want a good career, but they want to enjoy some freedom and have a life as well. They want everything that Rotorua has to offer, we just need to be part of the conversation and their consideration.”
The campaign launches in Auckland today with the “Great Escape”, targeting those over the endless treadmill of life, traffic torture and huge mortgage shackles.
Mr Worsp says Love Life, Live Rotorua is a long-term campaign integrated across print, online, social, outdoor, video and broadcast media.
“Templates and materials will be available for local businesses and organisations to use across websites, social media, recruitment or other advertising, while locals will also be able to support and engage with an extensive social media campaign.”
