Pools ready for cracker summer
Kids young and old can look forward to cooling off in the coming warmer weather as the full range of facilities at the Olympic Pool Complex officially open for the summer season on Labour weekend.
Community and recreation manager Andrew White says the outdoor 33m pool, dive pool, hydro slide and toddler’s pool are being prepared ready for opening, while BBQ areas are available now for bookings.
Pool opening hours for Labour weekend are the normal opening hours from 6am - 8pmon Saturday and Sunday, while the Monday public holiday is 8am - 6pm.
“We expect a cracker summer season and we want people to have a fun time at the pools.”
“A big focus for our lifeguards is making sure kids are well supervised,” says Mr White.
At the end of last season new signage and information around the facility was installed to help increase the awareness of safety rules.
“Children under 8 years old must be supervised by an adult at all times.”
