QLDC confirmed election results
The results of the elections for Queenstown District Council Mayor, Councillor and Wanaka Community Board have been confirmed.
Electoral Officer Jane Robertson said the inclusion of special votes had not changed the outcome in the Community Board election, where there had been a narrow margin between the fourth and fifth highest polling candidates.
Final voter turnout was substantially higher than in the 2013 election, with 54.13% of enrolled electors casting their votes.
The new Mayor and Council will be sworn in at the inaugural meeting on Tuesday 25 October.
Results:
Mayor: Jim Boult
Queenstown-Wakatipu Ward: Tony Hill, Alexa Forbes, Valerie Miller, Craig (Ferg) Ferguson, Penny Clark, John MacDonald
Wanaka Ward: Calum MacLeod, Ella Lawton, Ross McRobie
Arrowtown Ward: Scott Stevens
Wanaka Community Board: Ed Taylor, Rachel Brown, Quentin Smith, Ruth Harrison
The full results will be published as a public notice in local papers on Monday, which will constitute the official “declaration” of the outcome of the election.
