Fatal shooting in Mohaka, Wairoa
A 43 year-old man has died following a fatal shooting at a rural property in Mohaka, near Wairoa this morning.
Police and ambulance were called to the address just before 11am after receiving reports that somebody had been shot.
Police arrived shortly after and arrested a 62 year-old man at the address.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.
He had suffered a gunshot wound.
Police believe the victim and the offender are known to each other.
Police are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.
