COUNCIL’S CHIEF EXECUTIVE MOVING ON
Stratford District Council’s Chief Executive Matt O’Mara has announced he is moving on at the end of the year.
“I have enjoyed my time at Stratford District Council. I’ve enjoyed working with both the staff and community. There’s never a good time to leave however due to family circumstances I have made this tough decision,” says Matt. “I have seen the Stratford District move from strength to strength with the latest Venture Taranaki statistics indicating a growing economy year on year. The biggest thing that has impressed me is the sense of strong community and staff dedication,” he says.
Mayor Neil Volzke says, “It has been a pleasure to work with Matt. During his time at Council he has made some significant internal improvements to information management and through his leadership Council has won a number of awards including the 2016 McGredy Winder SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards - Transforming Service Award category for the Customer Experience Transformation (CxT) Project. Matt has been a very people orientated chief executive and we wish him well with his future endeavours.”
