Lower Hutt siren test this Thursday 13 October

HUTT CITY COUNCIL NEWS RELEASE

The Lower Hutt siren test is on this Thursday, 13 October, at 10am.
Civil Defence sirens in Lower Hutt will be tested for 2 minutes.
When the sirens are used in a real emergency they will sound continuously for a long period of time.
During the siren test on Thursday people are encouraged to visit getprepared.org.nz,facebook.com/wremoNZ, facebook.com/huttcitycouncil or tune in to a radio station.

The Hits 90.1 FM
Newstalk ZB 1035 AM
More FM 95.3 FM, 99.7 FM
The Breeze 94.1 FM, 98.5 FM
National Radio 567 AM, 101.3 FM, 104.5 FM
Radio Live 98.9 FM, 1233 AM
We also want people to tell us if they hear the siren test. They can do this by completing a short online survey at huttcity.govt.nz/siren-test.
In a real Civil Defence event, the sirens will be used to signal there is an emergency. When people hear the sirens in a real emergency they should visit getprepared.org.nz, facebook.com/wremoNZ,facebook.com/huttcitycouncil or tune in to radio for more information.
