Fatal quad bike crash at farm in Ashburton

A 50-year-old man has died after the quad bike he was driving crashed into a fence at a farm on Blackford Road, Mount Hutt, in Ashburton.

The accident happened at around 6am, on Sunday 25 September 2016.

The driver, Johnathan Madera, was a worker at the farm. He was treated by ambulance staff but died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

WorkSafe NZ have been notified and the matter has been referred to the coroner.
