Boost to get moving
It’s October already and despite the weather, we’re starting to think about summer. Unfortunately, the body is revolting – mostly against the thought of crawling out from under the duvet, where we’ve been binge watching Netflix all winter.
If you’re not ready to bare your body to the bronzed posers who’ve been working out all winter, but you’d still like to shape up and feel better, Auckland Council pools and leisure centres across the city are putting out a helping hand.
They’ve launched a new programme, “Let’s Get Moving”, which runs from 3-25 October and offers four free personalised training sessions dedicated to getting you moving again.
“You do need to become a member, but we’re going to waive the $50 joining fee and there are no long contracts – membership is pay-as-you-go,” says Rob McGee, Manager – Leisure for the council. Membership costs vary from centre to centre.
“With four free personalised training sessions and no joining fee, that’s $210 worth of value that we’re prepared to invest in getting every Aucklander be more active more often,” he says.
