Get out and vote, says Chamber
Wellington Chamber of Commerce is urging businesses to make sure they vote in the local government election and that they encourage their employees to do the same.
“It’s a bit concerning that turnout so far is significantly below the same time at the last election. We ended up with a 40% turnout last time, which is not very good, so on current trends it could be even worse this time.
“It’s important everyone has their say. This is an important election for Wellington as we are about to enter a crucial phase of our economic development with some big projects just around the corner, and we need the best leadership to guide them through.
“If you don’t vote you’ll get what you’re given.”
