State Highway 7, Lewis Pass closed Canterbury side – next update 12.30 pm
State Highway 7 was closed earlier today after a truck rolled on a bridge near Hanmer Springs turn off, a key route to
Nelson and the West Coast.
Hanmer Springs is still accessible from the Canterbury side.
There have been difficulties righting the truck and removing the load of timber off the road so the next update will be
at 12.30 pm.
There is no room for a single lane at the site currently so drivers need to take alternative routes in the meantime to
Nelson or between Canterbury and the West Coast.
