Person dies after being hit by vehicle
A person has died after being hit by a vehicle on State Highway 30 near Kopaki, 20 km south of Te Kuiti, shortly after 9pm tonight.
It appears at this stage that the person was the driver of a vehicle that crashed.
They were hit by an oncoming car shortly after the crash.
Two other occupants of the crashed car received minor injuries.
It is not yet known what caused the initial crash.
The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
