Votes start rolling in
The Auckland local body elections race is on. The gates are open in and the first votes are in.
Between now and midday on Saturday 8 October, over one million eligible voters can cast their ballots to determine the leadership of Auckland for the next three years.
At first count, 2.16 per cent of votes have been returned in the six days since voting opened, up from the 1.2 per cent for the same period in 2013.
Vote counting will continue on a daily basis and be available on the website from 2pmeach day, up to Friday 7 October.
A preliminary result will be available from 2pm on Saturday 8 October and the final outcome confirmed on Thursday 13 October.
