Voting Packs Go Out

Registered voters in the region can expect to receive their voting packs for positions on the Gisborne District Council and Tairawhiti District Health Board (Hauora Tairawhiti), in the post from today (Friday 16 September).

“All voting papers should be delivered to your letterbox by Wednesday 21 September,” says Council democracy support services manager Heather Kohn.

Included in voting packs are voting documents, candidate information directories and freepost envelopes for returning voting documents.

Completed voting documents can be returned by post at any post shop or post box, but it is recommended that they be posted by Wednesday 5 October or returned to your nearest Council office up until 12noon Saturday 8 October.
Ms Kohn says voting results are expected to be announced between noon and 3pm on 8 October and can be viewed online at www.gdc.govt.nz .

Final results will be confirmed and made available on Thursday 13 October.
“Voters who have not enrolled can still do so at any post shop, however you will need to request special voting documents from your local council electoral officer, as electoral rolls have closed.”

“The local body elections are your chance to have a say in decisions that shape your city. For more information on how this works visit www.gdc.govt.nz.”
