National Drive Electric Week

As part of its participation in National Drive Electric week, Vector is installing a standard charger at the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) on Sunday 18 September.

This will see the largest gathering of electric vehicles that Auckland has ever seen and will be a grand finale to a week celebrating the growth of electric vehicles and the availability of plug in chargers.

Over 50 events have been planned around the country which kicked off on Saturday 10 September. A convoy of 40 people and 20 electric vehicles and PHEVs descended on Puhoi, including Vector’s BMWi3.

The vehicles travelled via Silverdale and Orewa to maximise the exposure and many stopped for a quick boost at Vector’s Silverdale Rapid Chargers on the return journey.

Electricity

Vector crews were called out to house fires in Otara, Stanmore Bay, Silverdale, Albany, Te Papapa, Browns Bay, Kelston and Mount Wellington during the past week. The power was isolated so Fire crews could attend to the fire.

There were six car v pole incidents across the city last week in Glenfield, Mt Roskill, Papatoetoe, New Lynn, Meadowbank and Panmure.
