Independent Citizens select Sam MacDonald as a candidate in the Waimairi Ward.
Independent Citizens is placing a strong focus this year on encouraging competent, young and energetic community leaders to stand in the upcoming Local Body Elections.
Sam MacDonald, a 25 year old, lives in the Waimairi Ward and works as a Chartered Accountant.
"Sam is involved in the local community and has a strong financial background. We are confident he will make a positive change in the Waimairi ward” says Brian Palliser, President of Independent Citizens
As a group Independent Citizens stand for pragmatic, responsible and collaborative representation.
MacDonald says he is excited by the opportunities Christchurch presents post-earthquake, and believes it is crucial to encourage more young people in the Local Government Elections. “The decisions being made now will continue to impact future generations of Cantabrians. We need to ensure that Council decisions are pragmatic, fiscally sustainable and future focussed.”
