Taniwha Daffodils & The Breeze Celebrate Spring with
Havelock North Residents
Taniwha Daffodils and The
Breeze radio station are welcoming the first day of Spring
to Havelock North residents by delivering hundreds of
daffodils donated by Taniwha Daffodils, Central Hawke’s
Bay.
The Mabin family at Taniwha Daffodils on State
Highway 2, ten minutes south of Waipukurau, have donated 200
daffodils which The Breeze Breakfast hosts Kevin Wagg and
Megan Banks will deliver to Havelock North businesses and
residents
from 11am tomorrow morning.
Operations Manager Justin Rae says ‘it’s a great opportunity to put a smile back on the residents of Havelock North faces and welcome the start of the new season’.
Annually the first day of spring is when Taniwha Daffodils open the gates to their 20 acre daffodil field to the public for the month of September. Visitors are able to wander, picnic and pick stems with proceeds each year going to Central Hawke’s Bay Plunket.
Taniwha Daffodils are also hosting two
events in this year’s Spring Fling in Central Hawke’s
Bay. The first, Dawn in the Daffodils, happens on Friday
morning with ticketholders getting a unique view of the
daffodils at first light and the opportunity to enter a
photo competition being held that morning. The second event
Dusk in the Daffodils will see the Daffodil field lit
up
with a light installation and is being held on Friday
16th September, information and tickets are available at
