ADLSI key appointment

Auckland, 25 August 2016 – Auckland District Law Society Inc (ADLSI), announces the appointment of barrister Jodi Libbey as professional services manager.

With a Bachelor of Arts in political science and anthropology, a Bachelor and Master of Laws and admitted as barrister and solicitor in both New Zealand and Canada, Ms Libbey brings strong legal, commercial and academic experience to ADLSI.

Her primary responsibility is the organisation and co-ordinating the direction of ADLSI’s specialist legal committees, assisting them to comment on policy reforms and make submissions to parliament as an important contribution to the development of the law. She will also oversee the publication of ADLSI forms and precedents and legal practice manuals.

ADLSI committees work to promote special interest groups and sections within the profession and encourage the development of specialisation and expertise.

Before joining ADLSI, Ms Libbey’s worked most recently as a specialist legal recruiter. Prior to that she worked as a barrister in Victoria Chambers and Shortland Chambers in Auckland, as a lecturer at the University of Auckland’s School of Law, as an articling student in the Office of the Crown Prosecutor in Calgary, and as a research assistant in the Law Society of Alberta. As a result she has experienced the workings of her profession from almost every angle.
