Mayor to attend World Cities Summit Forum in Singapore
Mayor Lianne Dalziel will be attending the World Cities Summit Mayors’ Forum in Singapore next week.
The forum is an annual by-invitation only event for city leaders, giving them the opportunity to discuss important urban issues and to share best practices.
The event allows mayors and senior leaders from international organisations and the industry to exchange experiences in developing integrated urban solutions, building economic and environmental resilience, engaging with communities and sustaining a high quality of life in urban regions.
The Mayor says being able to network with global leaders and to share learnings with each other can help shape our city’s future.
“Given that our own city’s regeneration is gaining momentum, this summit provides a platform for government leaders and industry experts to address liveable and sustainable city challenges, share integrated urban solutions and forge new partnerships.
“I’ll also be addressing the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, ‘Cities in a Digital World’ conference on innovation in construction: a case study – rebuilding the city of Christchurch. This really is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Christchurch technology,” she says.
The Mayor will join Mayor Len Brown of Auckland and Mayor Celia Wade-Brown of Wellington at the forum.
World Cities Summit organisers have covered the costs of registration and accommodation.
Vicki Buck will be acting Mayor while the Mayor is away.
