A Platter-Full For The Beginners Experience At Treble Cone
LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand – Today, Treble Cone opened the Nice ‘n’ Easy Platter and Carpet area, with many enjoying this opportunity to grab their gear, enjoy the sunshine and warm their legs up for the winter ahead.
Despite limited snow coverage at Treble Cone, recent cold temperatures and snowmaking has allowed this learners’ area to open today, between 9am - 3pm, with many enjoying the opportunity to get some turns in. This Beginners Experience opening will continue throughout the weekend, and weather permitting into next week as well.
Today saw First Timer Packages and Private Lessons taught, Season Pass Holders plus Team TC, Rookies and Tai Poutini were all out there, working on technique, teaching modules and making the most of the Platter Slope, and this blue bird weather.
The highly qualified instructors of our Snow Sports School will continue in providing First Time and Beginners Packages plus Group and Private Lessons, running daily between 10am - 12pmand 1pm - 3pm.
Season Pass Holders welcomed the opportunity to hit the snow with a relaxed atmosphere.
An extra area created for Snow Play has been provided, free for families visiting Treble Cone. This is located next to the plaza seating area and will have snow features for the children and TC Cat entertaining our guests.
In addition to Snow Sport Lessons, The Cheeky Kea is open at the Base Building with fresh homemade baking, a delicious lunch menu and the full flavour of a barista made Allpress coffee from 10am till 3:30pm. The Shop at Treble Cone is open for guests to get their snow sport accessories and souvenirs. The Town Office will continue to operate between 8:30am - 5pm.
The Treble Cone team of snow makers and groomers continue to work hard to get the mountain ready, with the snow guns pumping overnight and all day today. The TC team will advise customers on the status of the mountain and new opening date via the TC website, social media and local media.
There will be no backcountry access for safety reasons as we are prepping the mountain for Opening. There will be no skis on the Snow Play area as this area is reserved for family play.
