Still time to have your say on Wairarapa council options
There’s still time to have your say on six options for council organisation in the Wairarapa with the Local Government Commission questionnaire deadline being Friday 8 July.
Around 800 questionnaires have been returned to the Commission since the end of May.
An explanatory booklet and freepost questionnaires are available from libraries in the Wairarapa.
Alternatively, an online version is available on the Local Government Commission’s website www.lgc.govt.nz.
“We’ve had a good response to the drop-in sessions and community meetings held over the last two weeks,” said Sir Wira Gardiner, Local Government Commissioner.
“We are grateful to the many community minded people who have let their friends and neighbours know about our meetings or helped our team out while they've been on the road. More than 320 people have attended meetings or met with us to ask questions and offer their views. The Commission will collate all the feedback and let people know the results in August,” said Sir Wira.
