Surface flooding on Northwestern
Motorway
Motorists are advised to take extra care on the roads around Auckland due to surface flooding.
There are heavy patches of flooding westbound on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) on the Causeway and at Lincoln Road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area or take alternative routes.
Contractors are on site pumping water off the road surface.
There’s also a high wind warning in place on the Auckland Harbour Bridge, with wind gusts of 60km/h. Those driving high sided vehicles and motorcycles should take extra care.
The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to take extra care, slow down, ensure your headlights are on and double your following distances between you and the vehicle in front.
