Fish and Game advises a voluntary closure of Lake Pupuke due to a diesel spill
Fish & Game are advising trout anglers not to fish at Lake Pupuke temporarily due to a diesel spill.
The clean-up for the diesel spill and the investigation into the cause of the spill is ongoing.
Fish & Game staff are monitoring the situation including several contaminated waterfowl.
Several swans have been spotted on the lake and efforts are being made to rescue the stricken birds.
Residents with non-English speaking neighbours or family members that fish at Lake Pupuke are urged to inform them of the spill.
