$80,000 for heritage approved by Finance and Performance committee
The council’s Finance and Performance Committee today approved $80,000 of grants through its Regional Historic Heritage Grants Programme (RHHGP), as well as considering updates on Auckland Council financial results and other issues.
The agenda is available on the council’s website and minutes will be added once confirmed. This meeting was also webcast online and items are available on demand.
Items 1- 8 were administrative items.
Item 9: 66 Flat Bush School Road, Flat Bush
The committee approved the disposal of 66 Flat Bush School Road, Flat Bush through Panuku Development Auckland.
Item 10: Disposals Recommendation Report
The committee approved to dispose of the council-owned property at 61-117 Clark Road, Hobsonville. Following a robust discussion the committee agreed to defer a decision on the disposal of the property at 2 Wiremu Street, Balmoral.
Item 11: Regional Historic Heritage Grants Programme 2015/16 allocation
The committee approved funding grants totalling $80,743 to seven applicants to the RHHGP 2015/16 fund, ranging from $3,375 to $20,000.
The projects support historic heritage outcomes outlined in the Auckland Plan, Long-Term Plan, Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan and the Heritage Incentives Framework.
The grants, which will go towards the restoration and maintenance of heritage buildings across Auckland are listed below:

Stephen Thomas $3,375

Item 12: Health, Safety and Wellbeing May 2016 Update
The committee received a report providing the Health, Safety and Wellbeing May 2016 Update.
Item 13: Auckland Council Group third quarter financial results to 31 March 2016
The committee received a report providing an overview of the financial performance of the Auckland Council Group for the nine months to 31 March 2016.
Item 14: Insurance
The committee agreed to the insurance renewal programme for the 2016/17 year and to ask the committee to delegate final placement of insurance policies to the Group Chief Financial Officer and Director Legal and Risk.
Item 15: Reports Pending Status Update – 16 June 2016
This was an administrative item.
