Best and
brightest celebrated at Technology Valley Awards
The winners of the 2016 Technology Valley Awards were announced during a glittering gala dinner last night at the old Ford Factory in Seaview.
Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace says the evening lived up to its billing as a celebration of the Hutt Valley’s best and brightest in the areas of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and manufacturing (STEMM).
“The calibre of our winners is outstanding. The contribution they are making to the STEMM sectors on a local, national, and global stage is why the Hutt Valley is Technology Valley.
“It was my pleasure to celebrate and congratulate both our winners and finalists together with Education Minister Hon Hekia Parata and members of the newly incorporated society, Technology Valley.
“Technology Valley is an exciting vision. It means fresh thinking, an entrepreneurial spirit and strong education and expertise. It creates wealth for our region, and excellent opportunities for our workforce.
“There was an energy and optimism in the room last night that was inspiring. We have a lot to be proud of in the Hutt Valley and last night’s display of innovation, passion, hard work and can-do spirit showed our STEMM sectors are leading the way.”
